I am a twenty-year-old student at Pasadena City College and am very active in my community. There are many subjects in which I have demonstrated ability and which I greatly enjoy. I am confident in my ability to teach based on my experiences to this point.I have mentored San Marino grade school and high school students in robotics. For these projects, there is more involved than just building a robot. Students must plan a task which their robot must complete or a problem for which their robot will provide a solution. I assisted students in the strategy, planning, and execution processes, as well as the preparation and delivery of the required presentations. I am able to work with students to assist with improving reading skills, report writing, and essays for college applications. My tutoring abilities also include helping special needs students, such as those with Autism or Down's Syndrome.In addition to my academic endeavors, I have a strong interest in political matters. I am involved with the International Planned Parenthood Federation as a Global Youth Advocacy Fellow. My involvement has included writing for submission to the United Nations on gender rights and reproductive health. I approach tutoring with professionalism and I keep my political views completely separate.
